Hey guys!
How’s everyone doing? 🙂 Just spent an amazing night emceeing for the Canon EOS Master Craftsmen South East Asia Tour (Singapore leg) featuring Canon’s very own superstar Tyler Stableford!
The man himself:
Tyler Stableford has won tons of awards and is one of the 7 Best Adventure Photographers in the World according to Men’s Journal. He’s also one of Canon’s distinguished Explorers of Light. Our little red dot was the first stop for Tyler’s tour- he’s going to be spending a short 2 days in each country (jetsetter!) and is already off to conquer Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam! At the rate I take to blog, he’s probably already done haha.
The event was graced by a whopping 700+ guests! Most of whom were professional photographers 🙂 I even got to meet my namesake, Melvin Ho, and he is, as you guessed it, a professional photographer.
Did you spot him?! He looks just like me! No I’m just kidding haha 😛
The event started off with Tyler sharing some of his most beautiful, breathtaking shots, along with his award winning film- all of which was amazing to watch and look at. After that we proceeded to Q&A, and Tyler was very happy to share his inspirations, his greatest achievements, as well as thoughts that the coastal side of singapore could serve as a great backdrop for aspiring photographers (this was actually an answer to a guest who asked what could he possibly shoot in Singapore, because we couldn’t be further away from a land brimming with nature!).
Q&A 🙂:
It was a lovely way to spend the evening and I definitely had a ton of fun and learnt a lot being the emcee for this seminar! I got to meet Tyler backstage before the event and I think that for someone who has achieved so much, Tyler is a really nice and humble and likable guy. He helped me realize that success in one’s field should really be developed along with humility 🙂 I would love to meet him again… perhaps he could help shoot a truly EPIC Facebook profile picture for me. Hahaha.

Have a great week ahead everyone! 🙂
